All trips are based on specific needs of the client. Departure time, amount time on the water, food and beverage can all be tailored to a specific trip.
But here are some basic trips to think about…..
1 / 2 Day – Bass and Blue…..
Depending on the tides that day we will suggest a departure time. Gay Head,
the Elizabeths, Middle Ground, Hedge Fence, NoMans, South Shore
are all locals we like. A 1/ 2 day we will fish one tide and as it slacks we will return to the Tashmoo dock. Usually five hours out and back.
Full Day – Bass and Blue….
Like a half day but fishing into the following tide. Usually seven to eight
hours on the water.
Blue Fin Tuna…….
We leave early, I mean early, most often 2:00am departure. We need
to travel some 60 miles to get to the grounds east of Nantucket and Chatham.
Most guest will catch some shut eye while others may down some coffee on the
bridge. The day always consists of time in and around pods of hump back whales,
an amazing site. We are allowed to take one blue fin tuna a day, others are released.
They can run from 80lb schoolies to 500lb plus giants, we never know what’s in store
on a given day. Return time is always different dependent on weather and conditions,
but we try to get back into Tashmoo by 6:00pm.
Marlin, Yellow fin Tuna, Mahi, Wahoo…..
The Canyons are a 100 mile plus run from Martha’s Vineyard. Usually leaving
late afternoon, traveling through the night and arriving at Sunrise. Fishing into the afternoon, then lines in for a four to five hour run home. Weather is always
the big factor here.
Nantucket blue fish…..
Nantucket blue fish are bigger, enough said. It can be a long run but some of the best fishing New England has to offer. Maybe lunch at the Roap Walk
and then homeward bound.
Cape and Nantucket pickup…..
We often will spend a night in Hyannis or Nantucket and leave for the grounds from there, great for tuna and Nantucket blue fish trips. We love to travel so many of our clients and charters originate locals other than the Vineyard.
